windows xp ?

So i'm in the process of getting some new components for my computer and i'm curious if anyone has just transfered an old drive to a new computer. On this drive i have windows xp media center edition so does anyone have any ide if this will work out for me ?

It should work, bearing in mind that you will have a lot of drivers to fix.

You can, but most times it will cause more problems than it will fix. Every time I have done it, it is followed by a fres install of the os. But like gump said, you are gonna have alot of drivers/devices to fix.

So after several hours the new computer is up and running turns out i had to revalidate windows over the phone as it took me a bit longer to get my internet connection back up. I have to say it was pretty easy building this machine, i thought i would have run into a few morw problems but i didn't.
